Outlook for 2011
by Russ MacKay
Each year McLean & Partners shares their Outlook for the year ahead. In reflection, last January they suggested the market would continue it’s upward climb and that the US was not headed for Japanese style stagflation. Investors were also reassured that inflation would not be a major threat in 2010.
They also discussed several themes they believed would be successful for investors in 2010, and nine specific stocks within those themes. Since January’s release these stocks have averaged over +30%, and were strong contributors to overall portfolio performance in 2010.
This year they will discuss where they see money making opportunities in themes like; Global Growth, Technology for Entertainment & Productivity, Chinese Consumer, and Luxury Brands.
Now is a great time to formulate your own Outlook for the year ahead, as it helps provide a blueprint and discipline for investing.
